Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she has the record of being given 10/10 points at an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became the coach for Comaneci and first became aware of Comaneci when she was just six years old. She first competed at the national junior championships in Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. Then in the year 1970, she won. In her 1972 first international meet in an preolympics junior event that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975 she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. When she competed for the first time as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion winning four gold medals as well as one silver. She was the first woman to complete a reverse double salo on the uneven parallel bar when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The journey of Carol Wayne into the realm of entertainment began when she was a teenager. Along with her twin sister Nina Wayne, she joined traveling entertainment shows that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in the entertainment business in her teens. Early on Carol was an ice figure skater for traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows were skaters who were accompanied by theatrical music.
